Dr. Robert Stevens, DPM
Dr. Robert Stevens graduated from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1995 with a degree specializing in surgery and biomechanics of the foot. He was accepted to a surgical residency at Mercy Hospital in Detroit in 1996 gaining valuable experience in all facets of Podiatric surgery and medicine. Moving to Salem immediately following his residency, he has established himself as a respected physician in the Salem area for twenty years gaining valuable experience in treating all conditions of the foot.
Dr. Stevens is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedics and Primary Pediatric Medicine and is on the surgical staff at Salem Hospital and Silverton Hospital. Teaching Diabetic Education classes and extensive experience treating diabetic patients has given him a broad knowledge of the complexities of care for diabetic patients.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Stevens enjoys being involved with the local community, especially playing tennis and golf. He is happily married with three grown children.
Dr. John Sessions, DPM, PhD
Dr. John Sessions is one of the few physician/engineer professionals in the country. After having spent over 10 years working in R&D in the fields of automotive, aerospace, and biomedical engineering creating and patenting products, Dr. Sessions earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University while pursuing his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from Midwestern University in Arizona.
Dr. Sessions completed his Rearfoot and Reconstructive residency at Baylor Scott & White/Texas A&M Health Science Center. During his surgical training, Dr. Sessions was been able to work with patients from several different healthcare systems which include: Baylor Scott and White, McLane’s Children’s Hospital, the Central Texas Veteran’s Hospital, and Darnell Hospital (Fort Hood – world’s largest Army base). Dr. Sessions has expertise in both pediatric and adult foot and ankle reconstruction, limb salvage, trauma, and wound care. Dr. Sessions continues to be active in both medical and engineering research, having specific medical interests in orthopedic design, biomechanics, diabetic limb salvage/wound care, pain management, genetics, cell and tissue engineering, and pediatrics – and publishes regularly in those areas.
Outside of professional life, Dr. Sessions enjoys spending time with his wife and five children. He loves being on the soccer field, volleyball court, and in his woodworking shop.
